About us

Melaka Classics is a local Arts & Culture non-profit organization focused on bringing together local music lovers and people from all over the world to Melaka to experience its unique culture and traditions in new forms. We exist to highlight the rich heritage of the city and bring attention to its classical music scene – all the way from the 16th century to the present day.

We host a wide range of performances and educational events periodically throughout the year to reach and enrich the local community. Our annual summer festival has also received much acclaim since its conception in 2018.

Melaka truly has everything – an illustrious history, diverse cultures, iconic architecture, a year-long influx of people from all around the world. It was missing one last thing – an active classical music scene, to complete the cultural experience. And that is what Melaka Classics aims to do – to make Melaka artistically more accessible.

To explore the city’s history by playing in culturally significant spaces, expand limits by bringing the unexpected, establish Melaka on the classical music map, educate with finest performances and masterclasses, and enrich the artistic experience of all.
